Located on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, Orang national park covers an area of 79-sq km was established as a sanctuary in 1985 and was declared a National Park on 13th April 1999. Famous for its natural scenic beauty, the park is about 140-km from Guwahati and 55 km from Tezpur, the nearest town.
Wildlife in Orang National Park:
The fauna found here include the one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, tiger, sambar, varieties of water birds, Bengal florican, Swamp francolin, etc. The park is also famous for its migratory birds from places as far as from Siberia.
How to get there:
Orang National Park is about 85 kms away from the Kaliabor Manor and is approximately a scenic drive of around 90 minutes.
